Warrior Bio

Hi! My name is Elaine, and I am a warrior!

noun

(especially in former times) a brave or experienced soldier or fighter.

synonyms: fighter, soldier, serviceman, combatant, mercenary

“fearsome warriors”

We live in a world full of battles: broken relationships, discrimination, hate, deceit, addiction and illness.

The image of a “warrior” is of one who is strong, brave and bold. As a warrior I will fight for those who can’t fight for themselves. As I train, I pursue warrior strength through good health and wellness of mind, body and spirit! I seek a pure, healthier, simpler, and more purposeful existence. But to achieve this, I embrace a lifestyle where I am WARRIOR.

Through I am WARRIOR, I teach Bible-based exercise, nutrition, health and wellness, as well as classes on natural oils (How about a natural wellness office party?). I also plan retreats customized for various groups (youth, men, women, family, mother/daughter, father/son, etc.). I can plan an I am WARRIOR wellness retreat for your group.

I’ve earned degrees in Science and Psychology, with additional studies in Animal Assisted Therapy. Combined, I have served many years in the fields of Mental Health, Education, Coaching, and Outdoor/Camp Ministry.

I’m a crazy, barefoot runner (and sometimes I run in flipflops) and a lover of the trails–my absolute favorite thing to do is trail running. I don’t just do it for the fun of it. I don’t just do it for the health of it. But it is much of a spiritual experience for me–it’s my physical, mental and spiritual high, and often a time of worship and prayer. Other times, it’s my coping mechanism. I love it when it’s just Hurley and me, running through the woods like wild animals! (Ahh, such freedom!). I’m a lover of adventure–living this life is as an ADVENTURE! And part of that adventure is exploring new places and new things. I like meeting new people too!

Thus, I’ve begun a journey to discover ways to live simpler, happier, and healthier. Upon selling our home, my husband and I are in pursuit of “micro-living.” We have purged our lives of many “things” and are currently renovating an old school bus to be our home-on-wheels.

21 years ago, I was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s Disease), and later with Adrenal fatigue (Addison’s Disease). I have learned how to manage these chronic conditions through nutrition, exercise, alternative medicine, and natural wellness. My thyroid just doesn’t work without therapeutic intervention, therefore I maintain treatment with 2 thyroid medications (Armour, a T3 and Cytomel, a T4). I tried going off these meds in an effort to be free of dependency on ANY medication, but in doing so, I became quite sick. Guess what? I won’t do that again!

I am NOT a Physician. I cannot diagnose anything. But I CAN educate and inform. My goal is to help others like me, seeking healthier alternatives to daily living and healthcare. I am not implying we don’t need mainstream medicine. But history reveals we’ve gotten away from the very medicine provided by the Creator Himself. And why? Because nature cannot be patented.

May I encourage you to be EDUCATED about your personal health and wellness. READ LABELS on food, hygiene products, cosmetics, nutritional supplements, cookware, and medications (I even read the labels on dog food). KNOW the ingredients and chemical composition and how it may impact your body. Then decide whether you want to risk exposure. And don’t forget, the SKIN is the largest organ of the body–what you expose it to, matters!

Please consider allowing me an opportunity to serve you–because though I am a warrior, I am also a servant. May you experience wellness of mind, body and spirit by what you learn through I am WARRIOR.

Shalom, my Friends!
